WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT APPLYING?
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and effective communication skills. Some experience working with children is desirable, but not required.
Selection: Final selection is based on a number of factors, including essay response, interview, observation in the classroom, written and verbal skills, and potential contribution to the group experience. Please visit the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) website to apply for a Statement of Eligibility (SOE). If applying for Elementary Education licensure, you must pass either the PLACE or PRAXIS II test in Elementary Education; if applying for Early Childhood Education licensure, you must either pass the PLACE exam in Early Childhood Education or complete a transcript review with the CDE.
